Blood drips in silence

Lost in the faces
of the eyes that stare at my smile

What are they seeing in me
that holds their life in place
rigidly,without lapse
for so many moments?

What do I do that attracts
such attention,
from those who see
in me a pause from personal wars
battle zones, fields of woe?
without further knowledge

(Taken from the upcoming collection – When Cold Air Rises – out in January 2011)

A poem about the slow, silent release of all that is us.

Sometimes, no matter how hard we try, people see beneath our masks.

Blood drips in silence touches on the everyday battle to keep our secrets hidden beneath the skin as they fight fervently to seep out.
